United Kingdom: On Tuesday, Prime Minister Boris Johnson supported the Oxford AstraZeneca coronavirus vaccine’s utilization completely.
It squelched all the European countries who halted Oxford AstraZeneca’s rollout over blood clot fears. On Monday, Germany, Italy, and France joined other nations in suspending the Oxford AstraZeneca, administering a potential blow to the global immunization campaign against a virus that has killed more than 2.6 million individuals.
However, the World Health Organization, Oxford AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine, and the European Medicines Agency have stated the jab is safe and that there is no link between the vaccine and reported respective blood clots.
On Tuesday, Prime Minister Boris Johnson echoed assurances that the shot of Oxford AstraZeneca was not harmful. “Oxford AstraZeneca is safe and works extremely well,” the British Prime Minister addressed in The Times newspaper.
“It is being made in multiple places from India to the US, as well as Britain, and it is being utilized across the world,” PM Johnson added.
Fears have grown in some nations over the AstraZeneca vaccine’s protection after numerous cases of blood clots or brain hemorrhages in people after receiving the immunization, with a small number of deaths notified.
But AstraZeneca and medical specialists in Britain have said there is no proof of clots being caused by the shipment or that they are occurring in more significant numbers or frequency than in the general population.
The vaccine was manufactured by the University of Oxford in Britain, where more than 11 million shots have been administered, without any significant predicaments reported.
On Monday, Johnson told authorized reporters that Britain’s Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) is “one of the hardest and most experienced regulators in the world.”
“They see no purpose at all to discontinue the vaccination program… for either of the vaccines that we’re currently using,” PM Johnson added. “They believe that they are highly effective in driving down hospitalization and severe disease and mortality,” PM Johnson stated.
