Antigua and Barbuda: The ICC Men’s T20 World Cup ‘Out of this World’ Trophy Tour is all set to take place in Antigua and Barbuda in April 2024. The tourism authority has extended an invitation to all the citizens and tourists to interact with the trophy before the T20 winner raises it at the end of the World Cup.

The citizens will get a glimpse of the T20 Cricket trophy on 16th April in Barbuda’s Holy Trinity Primary School and Sir Mcchesney George Secondary School. Following that, the trophy will tour Antigua Recreation Grounds on 18th April 2024.

During the trophy tour, the citizens will be offered with unlimited entertainment as the event will feature electrifying performances of Chickie and Possee, Panache Steel Orchestra and many more.

The T20 World Cup will commence on 1st June and the final will take place on 29th June 2024. This year, the games have been scheduled to be co-hosted by the West Indies and the United States. Out of all, six Caribbean nations will be hosting the 2024 edition of the T20 World Cup.

The Caribbean nations including, Guyana, Trinidad and Tobago, St. Vincent, Saint Lucia, Barbados and Antigua and Barbuda will be hosting several matches. As per the schedule, eight thrilling and exciting games will be played at the renowned Sir Vivian Richard’s Stadium of Antigua and Barbuda.

The ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 games that have been scheduled to take place in Antigua and Barbuda, include

  • Sunday, 9th June, 2024 – Oman vs Scotland
  • Tuesday, 11th June, 2024 – Australia vs Namibia
  • Thursday, 13th June, 2024 – England vs Oman
  • Saturday, 15th June, 2024 – Namibia vs England
  • Wednesday, 19th June, 2024 – A2 vs D1
  • Thursday, 20th June, 2024 – B2 vs D2
  • Saturday, 22nd June, 2024 – A1 vs D2
  • Sunday, 23rd June, 2024 – C2 vs D1

While shedding light on the tournament, the cricket legend of Antigua and Barbuda, Sir Richie Richardson said that Antiguans and Barbudans love cricket and they will try their best in order to make the experiences of all the spectators memorable and ‘out of this world’.

Charles Fernandez, the Minister of Tourism, and Civil Aviation of Antigua and Barbuda stated that it is a great opportunity for Antigua and Barbuda to display their vibrant culture and traditions to the visitors and offer them with rich tapestry of experiences from beaches to historical sites and culinary delights.

He also added that it is an amazing opportunity for the twin-island nation to witness a surge in economic conditions as the visitors can explore several beautiful host-spot destinations. These visits will result in enhancing development in several sectors such as hotels, restaurants, businesses and many more.
