One among two suspects of robbery held in Trinidad and Tobago

Trinidad and Tobago: The police authority of Trinidad and Tobago arrested a suspect in the robbery just after the crime took place in the Tunapuna district. The male suspect was held during his effort to escape the site after the loot.
The incident was recorded against the self-employed produce vendor, who became the victim of an unlawful act on Thursday 8th August 2024. As per the reports shared by the authorities, the officers were heading towards east along the Churchill Roosevelt Highway in the vicinity of Pasea lights when they were flagged down and approached by a vendor.
The vendor reported a matter to the officers and shared two men wearing camouflage face masks, hoodies, and blue jeans had robbed him. While sharing the further details of those suspects, the victim stated that the men were armed with a firearm and stole his Samsung A05 cell phone, worth $1,500, along with $1,500 in cash under gun-point.
According to the details, while the victim was reporting the incident to the officials, he spotted and pointed out one of the suspects who tried to flee across the road. However, the officers caught him and matched the description provided to them by the victim.
The officers found a camouflage mask and a hammer on the suspect as per shared by the victim. And, on matching the details, the officers arrested one of the suspects but failed to catch another as he managed to escape.
The arrested suspect was later taken to Tunapuna Police Station and the authorities are further continuing with their process of investigation. They have ensured the victim and all the residents of the country that they will make every possible effort in order to catch the other suspect.
