Nassau Cruise Port welcomes seven cruises, marks biggest record ever in its history
Seven ships docked into the berths of Nassau Cruise Port (NCP), bringing an astounding figure of over 20,009 passengers to its shores. The NCP’s Operations Manager, Marques Williams, expressed his delight as the cruises arrived on the island.

Seven ships docked into the berths of Nassau Cruise Port (NCP), bringing an astounding figure of over 20,009 passengers to its shores. The NCP’s Operations Manager, Marques Williams, expressed his delight as the cruises arrived on the island for the first time in the port’s history.
The arrival of cruises marked a milestone achievement in the tourism sector of the Bahamas as the day came just ten months following the official grand opening of NCP on May 26, 2023.
Following are the cruises that arrived at the island’s beautiful shores,
– Carnival Liberty
– Sea Cloud Spirit
– Carnival Paradise
– Disney Wish
– Vision of the Seas
– Carnival Elation
– Independence of the Sea
With the arrival of seven ships, the Bahamas became the cruise ship destination in the Caribbean. The number of visitors got an opportunity to witness the beauty of the island nation and its vibrant culture and rich heritage.
The Port Marketplace and Port Plaza filled with joy and they welcomed the travellers by the performances on the Bahamian music. They entertained thousands of visitors before they going to the downtown.
The Operations Manager Williams extended a vote of thanks to the port partners for their teamwork who successfully played their role of handling the crowd.
“This is a historic moment for the Bahamas and Nassau Cruise Port. This is the first time that we have seven ships at the port in a single day. This achievement is thanks to a lot of teamwork. I have to give a big thanks to the Nassau Harbor Pilots Association – they did a fantastic job getting these ships into the harbor”, said Operations Manager Williams.
Furthermore, Chief Executive Officer- Mike Moura appreciated the port team for their unwavering and tireless efforts in easing the process of managing visitors came into the country.
She also marked the day, March 12, 2024, as an ‘incredible triumph’ for all Bahamians.
With the arrival of vessels, the tourism sector of the Bahamas will be enhancing and progressing, which will positively impact its economy as it will work as a source of revenue generation and open various employment opportunities such as guided tourism shops and restaurants.
Additionally, the people across the nation took to their Facebook handle to express their happiness for the emergence of ships in the island.
“Wow! Hope they have a good, safe visit. Too many, but great for the economy”, commented one.
“This is a huge number of passengers. We welcome them to our country. Have a tour of our beautiful country and see our beautiful culture”, quoted another.
