Montserrat to host Regional Female Calypso on December 30

Montserrat will be hosting the Regional Female Calypso Competition on December 30, 2023, at 8 PM in Carnival City to honour the beauty of Caribbean women.

Montserrat will be hosting the Regional Female Calypso Competition on December 30, 2023, at 8 PM in Carnival City to honour the beauty of Caribbean women.

It is to be noted that the show will showcase the Beautiful and Talented Queens from across the Caribbean. 

Notably, there will be nine (9) special ladies who will grace the stage this coming Saturday as they vie for the title of ‘Queen of Queen 2023.’

Following are some of the women who will represent their countries in the competition. 

– Minelle Delice will be representing Saint Lucia in the Regional Female Calypso Competition.

– Further, Montserrat will come Alive as the defending Queen, Terri Lyons, vie for the title of the show.

– Young calypso phenom Ge- Eve Philip will represent Antigua and Barbuda’s talent in the return of Montserrat’s Queen of Queens Calypso Competition. Notably, Terry Andrew caught up with the teenager before she departed for the Emerald Isle on Wednesday afternoon.

As soon as this news circulated on social media platforms, many people extended their wishes and good luck to the contestants of the Regional Female Calypso Competition. 

One such comment, by the person Shauna Joseph read as, “Minelle all the best to you and your accomplishments keep up the amazing work. Wishing you queen of queens. Sending you love and support.”

Another person named as Kelrick Joseph commented, “Best wishes!!! Represent Antigua and Barbuda.”

While reacting to the news, Inez Richards, another Facebook user, extended his wishes for Ge-Eve Philip by writing, “All the best in your upcoming competition! Remember to enjoy yourself.”

The first female calypso show was organized by the Pacesetters in the 80s. Notably, in 2014, the Montserrat Arts Council took over the management of the competition
