Lewellyn Xavier, national cultural icon to be part of “Poems from Saint Lucia”

Saint Lucia: Cultural Development Foundation has announced the hosting of Cultural Icon Series-“Poems from Saint Lucia” Lewellyn Xavier. This icon showcase will feature three collections from Lewellyn Xavier at Orange Grove Plaza from May 4 to 13, 2024.
Lewellyn Xavier is the preeminent visual artist of Saint Lucia that has followed a career path whose twists and turns, many of the West Indians recognize. And, the art exhibition as the part of Cultural Icon Series- “Poems from Saint Lucia ” would surely have a significant mark of remembrance.
Cultural Development Foundation (CDF) featured the information to make people aware of this. And, in an honor of Lewellyn Xavier, the CDF mentioned, “Globally renowned as one of the Caribbean’s foremost artists is widely acclaimed for his contributions to environment advocacy using the visual arts as his medium.”
Lewellyn Xavier as well has been distinguished with the designation of a national cultural icon. The belongingness of such a personality presents the clear epitome of the rich cultural heritage of Saint Lucia.
Probing ahead, there are several other events to be hosted in the country, Saint Lucia. From these, one is “Voices of the Underground, an Evening of Performance Poetry.” The event would offer one to delve into the depths of expression and creativity that will inspire them through the power of spoken words.
This will take place on May 6, 2024 at Harbor Club for which the ticket price announced is $100.00 ECD or $38 USD. The tourism Ministry of Saint Lucia is tirelessly working for the development of the country and its people.
Such events being organized in the country on a frequent basis clearly state the efforts of authorities towards enhancing the cultural values in the people of the country. Not only, it encourages them towards the cultural values but also leads towards the overall development of the country.
