St Kitts and Nevis: St Kitts and Nevis health ministry have shared new protocols for inbound air passengers and COVID-19 testing, which would come into effect from April 1, 2022 (Friday).

The protocols shared by the Health Ministry are as follows –

1.) All inbound air travellers to St Kitts and Nevis are permitted to submit and travel with an accepted valid negative COVID-19 RT-PCR Test or a Rapid Antigen Test result.

2.) The RT-PCR Test must be done within 72 hours/ three (3) days prior to arrival in the Federation.

3.) The Rapid Antigen Test must be done one (1) day prior to arrival in the Federation.

4.) Accepted tests include tests taken at an accredited/recognized laboratory by a healthcare provider using any of the following samples: Nasopharyngeal/ Oropharyngeal sample.

The ministry has further notified that self-administered tests or home tests and tests using saliva samples will not be accepted.

The COVID-19 situation in St Kitts and Nevis is a virtue; the total number of active cases in the twin-island Federation is zero (0). As of March 25, 2022 (Friday), in the last 24 hours, the number of new confirmed cases reported was zero (0).

The total number of confirmed cases in St Kitts and Nevis is at 5,548, of which 4,704 cases were reported in St Kitts and the remaining 844 from Nevis. The recoveries registered in the twin-island Federation are 5,506. Of the total, 4,669 recoveries were from St Kitts, and 844 were from Nevis.

Total deaths reported on St Kitts and Nevis are 42.

The vaccination rate in the Caribbean country is quite good. As many as 82.2 percent of the eligible population has been administered with the first dose of vaccination and around 77.8 percent have taken the second dose.

On the contrary, the booster dose has been received by only 9.7 percent of the population.
