St Vincent and the Grenadines will witness a significant boom in its tourism sector following the direct flight services announced by Jet Blue Airlines and American Airlines.
Jet Blue is expected to commence its direct flight services to Argyle International Airport from 9th October, 2024. The airline will offer its services twice in a week, i.e. Wednesdays and Sundays, aiming to enhance air connectivity and providing ease travel options to all the passengers.
Along with that, American Airlines has also expanded its flight services to St Vincent and the Grenadines. The airline will offer direct flight services from New York (JFK) to St. Vincent, effective from December 2024. These services will be provided only once in a week i.e. on Saturdays.
While shedding light on this expansion of services, the Minister of Finance, Camillo Gonsalves stated that the announcements by major airlines will play a huge role in increasing their flights services and emerging St Vincent and the Grenadines as a premier destination among all travellers.
He added that these enhanced flight services is due to increase in adequate field in the country and the company’s confidence in St Vincent and the Grenadines as a productive tourism destination.
“Travellers will have Wednesday, Saturday, Sunday, either from Jet Blue or American and still have Caribbean Airlines coming in twice a week. Additionally, American Airlines is going to start a once-a-week flight in December on Saturdays, out of Charlotte, North Carolina and this is hugely important,” noted the Finance Minister.
He further asserted that this decision undertaken by the airlines shed light on the economic upgrade and stability that is offered by St Vincent and the Grenadines, as a tourism hotspot.
“American Airlines is saying we believe we can full of tourist coming from North Carolina, coming to St Vincent and the Grenadines,” asserted Camilio Gonsalves.
The Minister stated that there are discussions also being held with the team of Air Canada to increase the flight services, aiming to bring large number of passengers to the country.
These enhanced services are hoping to bring large number of passengers to the country which would not only enhance the economic conditions but also play a significant role in improving the economy of the country.
