Jamaica PM Holness, accompanied with Kamina Johnson, reaches Rwanda to attend CHOGM 2022
Jamaica: Prime Minister Andrew Holness has departed for Rwanda from the country to attend the 26th Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM).

Jamaica: Prime Minister Andrew Holness has departed for Rwanda from the country to attend the 26th Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM).
PM will be accompanied with his wife, first lady – Juliet Holness, Minister without portfolio in the Office of the Prime Minister with responsibility for Information, Robert Morgan and other delegation members.
The Prime Minister, through his social media handle announced, “Today (on June 20, 2022) I am departing for Rwanda to participate in the 26th Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM).”
“I am joined by my wife the Most Honourable @julietholness, Minister without portfolio in the Office of the Prime Minister with responsibility for Information, the Hon. Robert Morgan and other delegation members,” he further asserted.
Before departure, Prime Minister Holness had meeting with the defence staff rear admiral Antonette Wemyss Gorman and the commissioner of police, major general Antony Anderson.
Prime Minister stated, “As is customary, I met with Chief of Defence Staff Rear Admiral Antonette Wemyss Gorman, and Commissioner of Police Major General Antony Anderson, just before my departure.”
This year, Jamaican Senator and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade – Kamina Smith Johnson is one of the nominated candidates for the Commonwealth Secretary-General position. She is also part of the delegation which left for Rwanda on June 20, 2022.
After reaching Rwanda, Kamina Johnson took social media to express pleasure and wrote, “Thrilled to be in Kigali, Rwanda for the 26th Meeting of the Heads of Government of the Commonwealth of Nations (#CHOGM).”
The meet has been scheduled between June 20 and June 25. This week, Commonwealth heads will discuss climate change, food security, impact on our oceans, and sustainable energy.
