Jamaica: Motorcycle accident claims life, marks 55th road mishap of the year
The fatal accident in Whitehouse at Westmoreland, Jamaica claimed the life of a motorcyclist on Saturday. He sustained several injuries on his body that resulted in his death. This incident marks the 55th road mishap since the beginning of the year.

Westmoreland, Jamaica: The fatal accident in Whitehouse at Westmoreland claimed the life of a motorcyclist on Saturday. He sustained several injuries on his body that resulted in his death. This incident marks the 55th road mishap since the beginning of the year.
The motorcyclist has been identified as Marquez Lindo who is a resident of a Whitehouse address in the parish. The accident occurred due to the collision of a bike with a white Toyota Voxy motorcar.
As per the details shared by the authorities, the deceased was riding a motorcycle on the Whitehouse main road. As soon as he arrived in the near surroundings of the Church of Jesus Christ, he overtook a line of traffic. Subsequently, he lost his balance and failed to keep his bike on the left side. Due to this, he collided with a white motorcar.
The collision resulted in serious consequences and led to multiple injuries to Marquez Lindo. He was later taken to the Savanna-la-Mar Public General Hospital. On reaching the hospital, he was thoroughly examined by the doctors where he was pronounced dead.
The authorities of Westmoreland police are probing the matter and have promised to conduct a proper investigation into the matter.
Increase in the accidental rates continues to become a serious concern. The residents have requested the administration of the country to take stringent measures, to ensure road safety with the motive to curb road fatalities.
Despite the continuing efforts of the government, the country has still not noticed any significant progress. However, the authorities are still coming up with new policies and measures to overcome this obstacle.
Various residents of the community took to their social media accounts and shared their views on the news and extended condolences to the friends and family of the deceased.
One person with a Facebook account Leon Barnard commented “Another one joins the statistics. Condolences to the family.”
Another person commented the following “It is so disturbing, government need to take some strict actions against such accidents.”
