Jamaica: Farmer attacks couple with illegal weapon following an argument
A 68 year old has been charged for attacking couple due to a heated argument that took place.

Westmoreland, Jamaica: The charges have been laid against a farmer who is accused of firing a shot at a couple following an altercation. The accused allegedly used an illegal weapon to commit the offence.
The farmer has been identified as 68-year-old Keith Spence alias ‘Trash.’ The names and identity of the couple have not been revealed yet by the officers. The incident is reported to have taken place at the accused’s property in Porters Mountain District, Westmoreland on Monday.
As per the details shared by the authorities, the accused, Spence and a couple were at his home and a heated argument took place between them. During the argument, the accused asked the couple to leave his place.
Subsequently, the couple left the place of the accused and headed towards their destination. While they were on the roadway outside the premises of the accused, Spence approached them with aggression while he was armed with a lethal weapon.
As per the reports, the old man lodged a shooting attack against the couple and they made a good escape from the spot without sustaining any injury.
Therefore, the police were immediately informed about the incident and they approached Spence and he surrendered to the authorities for the offence he committed.
The residents of the community took to their social media accounts and expressed their views on the incident. They appreciated the authorities for their instant actions and requested the administration to implement stringent measures to ensure the safety and security of the citizens of the country.
One person commented “It seriously raises a question of what kind of argument could have taken place between the couple and the farmer that he took such a drastic step. They need to get a little calm in order to ensure safe living of all the citizens.”
Another person commented the following “It is glad that the couple is safe and it is wrong to possess an illegal weapon. The officers should more often conduct exercises in order to tackle crime activities.”
The citizens of Jamaica have been constantly urging the authorities to implement strict policies and plans with the motive to bring peace to the nation.
