Jamaica: Construction worker stabbed to death by ex-girlfriend

Trelawny, Jamaica: A 25-year-old construction worker is hospitalised in a critical condition after being robbed and stabbed by his ex-girlfriend. It is to be noted that the incident took place on Sunday, 11th February 2024, in Falmouth, Trelawny, Jamaica.
As per the information shared by the authorities, the victim went to sleep after locking his house. Subsequently, he was awakened in the middle of the night when he heard someone knocking loudly on his door and windows.
Upon checking, the man saw his ex-girlfriend, who kicked his door open and entered the premises with a pair of scissors. The suspect stabbed the man in the left side of his chest and right palm.
The woman not only stabbed the victim but also broke into his house and destroyed his property. After all this, she escaped from the area and left his ex-boyfriend injured in a serious condition.
As per the details, the damage caused to the door and window is estimated to be around $16,000.
The police officials are seeking the public’s help in order to find the suspect, and they have promised that they will make all the possible efforts to find the woman and punish her for the offence she committed.
As soon as the news was shared on various mediums, the community residents took to their social media accounts and expressed their views on the matter.
One person with a Facebook account, Hyacinth Watson, commented, “It’s so disgraceful when you heard that a woman done something like that.”
Another person commented the following: “We demand justice. What a wicked act, Equality for all.”
The residents of the community have also added that it is a very cruel act by any woman and the authorities should take stringent measures in order to control such acts by applying the same punishments as the men are subjected to.
