Inaugural JetBlue flight arrives safely in St Kitts, Denzil Douglas expresses pleasure

Denzil Llewellyn Douglas, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of St Kitts and Nevis appreciated Tourism Minister Marsha Henderson and her team for the inaugural Jet Blue first flight which landed safely to the pearly shoes of the Federation.

Denzil Llewellyn Douglas, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of St Kitts and Nevis appreciated Tourism Minister Marsha Henderson and her team for the inaugural Jet Blue first flight which landed safely to the pearly shoes of the Federation.

Minister Douglas recognised the tireless efforts of the Minister of Tourism, Marsha Henderson and the amount of work she put into the agreement with the esteemed airline Jet Blue to service this New York/ St Kitts Nevis route.

The tourism minister was also praised by Deputy PM Geoffrey Hanley for her huge contribution to bringing Jet Blue to the nation.

Deputy PM also shed light on the brighter future waiting for the nation. He added that this collaboration will give the travellers of the nation a new and beautiful experience to explore their island.

This collaboration will help in boosting the country’s economy. Jet Blue provided three days of services a week from JFK, New York, to RLB in St. Kitts.

The flight departed from JFK at 8:29 am and arrived in SKB at 2:14 pm. The return flight from SKB was from 3:30 pm and arrived at JFK airport at 7:00 pm.

The first flight of Jet Blue in St Kitts was on Thursday, 2nd November, it was a very special moment as it offered its passengers the best possible services with low fares.

For the same, a warm welcome reception was conducted for the executives of Jet Blue Airways Corporation.

The welcoming ceremony of the inaugural flight of Jet Blue was attended by:

–         Dr Terrance Drew, the Prime Minister of St. Kitts and Nevis

–         Members of the Federal Cabinet

–         Ministry of Tourism officials and representatives.

Moreover, the Minister of Tourism, Marsha Henderson, was watching the live stream of the ceremony because of the surgery she was recovering from at that time.

Tourism Minister Marsha Henderson stated that this is an important milestone as it connects the island with the United States. It will give visitors from the US an opportunity to experience the exceptional Caribbean experience that St Kitts has to offer.

PM Drew also shared his views on this occasion; he stated that it shows the successful efforts of the initiatives undertaken by the government towards the nation’s economy for taking it to the new heights.
