Castries, Saint Lucia: HelpAWS has shared the story of another entry to the Saint Lucia-based dog shelter. On May 15, 2023, the organisation welcomed an adorable female pup despite less space availability.
The organisation mentioned, “Another day, another intake. Today we received this adorable little girl who was dropped off unexpectedly at our shelter. The individual who brought her to us has no idea where she came from, only that she showed up out of the blue one day looking for a safe place to call home. She luckily wasn’t covered in ticks which leads us to believe that she was previously owned and cared for.”
Furthermore, the organisation stated that this poor little baby is so scared that she wouldn’t eat unless left alone with no one around; sadly, this is commonly seen amongst strays that are often abused. They will not eat until they know they are safe and no other animal or human is around to harm them.
HelpAWS continued and stated that at only about three months, she has already gone through so much and without a doubt frightened as she is the organisation; know, with time, she will quickly learn that not all humans will hurl rocks or insults and instead be greeted with love and treats.
“We know that here in our care, we are going to do everything in our power to make sure she feels comfortable and receives all of the love that she has been so desperately lacking and deserves,” the organisation penned.
Furthermore, the shelter appealed to the general public to come forward to support and donate. “If you would like to help donate towards the care of this new pup and name her, please consider donating via Etransfer, PayPal or Zelle to donate@helpaws.com or via Venmo to @helpaws,” it concluded.
