Guyana: MOH hands over GY$3.2M in motorcycles to various regions

Georgetown, Guyana: Minister of Health Dr Frank Anthony officially handed over a quantity of motorcycles that were purchased under the Regional Health Services and the National Tuberculosis Programme at the Ministry of Health’s Compound, Brickdam.
According to the official information, the ceremony was held on August 16, 2023 (Wednesday).
The Motorcycles, which cost approximately GY$3.2 Million, are expected to improve the health care delivery within the respective regions.
As per the official update by the Ministry of Health, two XR Motorcycles were allocated to Region One (Barima-Waini) and Three (3) XR to Region Nine (Upper Takutu-Upper Essequibo), while the National Tuberculosis Programme in Region Four (Demerara-Mahaica) received three motorcycles.
The update also informed that this handing over ceremony was attended by the Director General of the Ministry of Health, Dr Vishwa Mahadeo; the Coordinator of the Indigenous Peoples Communities, Mr Michael Gouviea; Purchasing Clerk, Ms Saymanta Kissoon, attached to the RDC ( Regional Democratic Council) Region One (1); Supply Expeditor, Ms Junica Pluck attached to RDC (Regional Democratic Council) Region Nine (9); Dr Faddla Bacchus attached to Tuberculosis Multidrug-resistant tuberculosis (MDR-TB), Tuberculosis Outreach Chest Clinic, Ms Tracy Scipio; Tuberculosis Outreach Chest Clinic, Mr Neela Anthony and Ms Dianne Amos, Tuberculosis Outreach Chest Clinic.
It is worth noting that the Ministry of Health will focus on improving the health condition in Guyana. Recently, it has been raising information regarding dengue and breeding of mosquitoes.
It has been appealing to the general public to follow all the possible precautions to safeguard the general public of Guyana.
