Guyana govt receives more than 40,500 COVID-19 vaccine doses from South Korea
Guyana: The Government received 40,800 doses of Moderna COVID-19 vaccines from the Government of the Republic of South Korea on July 09, 2022 (Saturday).

Guyana: The Government received 40,800 doses of Moderna COVID-19 vaccines from the Government of the Republic of South Korea on July 09, 2022 (Saturday).
During the brief handing-over ceremony at the Ministry of Health’s Bond in Kingston, Health Minister Dr Frank Anthony welcomed the donation.
“The Government of Guyana and people of Guyana would like to thank the Government and people of the Republic of Korea for a donation of COVID-19 vaccines to fight the COVID-19 pandemic”, the Minister said.
He further explained that the vaccines would be distributed across the ten administrative regions and will be administered to 18 years and older population who requires their primary series of the COVID-19 vaccines.
Meanwhile, the Honorary Consul of the Republic of South Korea in Guyana, Mr Ramesh Dookhoo, said the valuable donation would aid in saving many lives while satisfying the need of the health care system in Guyana.
Also on-site, this afternoon was Dr Ertenisa Hamilton, Director of Family and Primary Health Care Services; Dr Farrah December, Expanded Programme on Immunisation (EPI) Support Officer and Andrea Budburgh, Medex attached to the Ministry of Health.
The Government of Guyana has been working hard to vaccinate the citizens and residents of the country to safeguard and protect them from severe illness and hospitalization.
The government, along with the health authorities, has started a vaccination drive for children across the country to raise awareness about the vaccination against the virus, which has succumbed to hundreds of thousands of lives around the globe.
