Guyana adds another airline to collection, Avianca to offer direct services from Colombia

One of the leading Colombian airlines, Avianca is all set to offer direct and twice-weekly flight services to Guyana from 11th December, 2024. These new services to the country will play a huge role in transforming Guyana a more accessible destination, offering seamless connections to all the travellers.
These direct flight services will connect the capital of Guyana, Georgetown to Bogoto, Colombia, offering all the passengers with a convenient and ease travel options.
The addition of flight services by Avianca to Guyana marks a huge milestone for the aviation industry of the country which will later play a huge role in strengthening their relations with Colombia and enhancing air-connectivity.
These services is also expected to play a significant role in opening doors to several opportunities with remarkable growth across various sectors of the nation including, tourism, trade and cultural exchange.
While shedding light on the addition of Avianca, the Minister of Tourism, Industry and Commerce of Guyana, Oneidge Walrond stated that this new route will boost the arrival of visitors while stimulating investment and economic growth.
She further added that it will not only enhance the local tourism industry but will also create new jobs and opportunities for several businesses. This positive development will also enhance the reputation of Guyana as a premier tourist destination across the world.
Moreover, the Minister of Public Work, Bishop Juan Edghill stated that this new collaboration with Avianca is a testament to the commitment of the Government to enhancing air connectivity and leading the nation towards resilience.
He added that they are spending heavily on infrastructural improvements to make Guyana, an appealing destination for all the travellers and airlines. And, this addition of services will be crucial in increasing their appeal among international passengers.
Avianca is the airline that holds the capacity of accommodating 180 passengers, providing all the travellers a safe, convenient, comfortable and memorable travel experience.
Additionally, the installation of electronic gates at the Cheddi Jagan International Airport shed light on the expenses being invested by the authorities in order to reduce processing times and enhance overall airport efficiency.
The authorities added that they are adamant to make Guyana, a regional hub for travel and commerce and with this expansion of services by Avianca, they are determined to attract more visitors.
