Guyana: A famous biker, Shaheed Ishmieal killed in accident

The famous biker was killed by a drunken driver on 12th November 2023 at Good Hope, East Bank, Essequibo.
The biker, who has been identified as Shaheed Ishmieal, died in a dangerous accident after he was struck by a speeding drunk driver.
The 36-year-old was also a well-established businessman from Cornelia Ida, West Coast Demerara, Guyana.
As per the reports of the Police officers, the vehicles that were involved in the accident were:
– A motor car with the registration number PZZ 1848, which was owned and driven by 31-year-old Delvon Stuart of Tuschen New Housing Scheme, EBE.
– A motorcycle with the registration number CK2051, which was owned and driven by Ishmieal.
As per the information, the motorcar was heading east along the northern side of the Good Hope Public Road at a very fast speed when he overtook another motorcar and ended up on the southern side of the road.
The officers explained the scenario that the front of the motorcar collided with the front portion of Ishmieal’s bike, which was moving westward along the southern side of the road.
Due to the collision of the vehicles, Ishmieal was flung into the air, fell onto the windscreen of the car, and landed on the road surface.
Subsequently, the motorcyclist was taken to the Leonora Cottage Hospital, where he was declared dead by the doctors.
Moreover, the driver of another vehicle, the motorcar, was apprehended and was taken for the Breathalyzer test, where it was proved that he was drunk.
The driver of the motorcar was charged for the offence of driving a vehicle whilst his breath alcohol level exceeded the prescribed limit in contravention of Section 39 A (1) of the Motor Vehicle Act Chapter 51:02 contrary to Section 39(2) of the Motor Vehicle and Road Traffic Act 51:02 was amended by act 17 of 2022.
Stuart appeared at the Leonora Magistrate Court, where he did not plead guilty and was placed on $100,000 court bail. Later on, it was revealed that he was released on $300,000 station bail for the accident and he was asked to report to the Parika Police Station once a week.
Furthermore, one of the news channels were informed by Mahendra Siwnarine, the Commander of Region Three, Assistant Commissioner that they have sent a file to the officer of Director of Public Prosecution and when the file would be returned, Stuart would be charged based on the recommendations.
However, according to the latest information, the officers are still preparing the file, which was expected to be sent to the Director of Public Prosecution later this week.
Shaleeza Asgarali-Ishmieal, a resident of Henrietta Leguan and a mother of the biker, is pleading that her son gets justice. She stated that her daughter was murdered by her husband back in 2005; she has never got justice for her daughter, but this time, she is pleading for justice to prevail.
