Grenada women’s team to participate in ECVA Indoor Volleyball Tournament

The Grenada women’s team is all set to participate in the Eastern Caribbean Volleyball Association (ECVA) Tournament, which has been taking place at the YMCA Sports Complex, St John’s in Antigua and Barbuda from 18th October to 23rd October 2024.

The Eastern Caribbean Volleyball Association (ECVA) Tournament is the prestigious regional competition which will feature the top 6 teams from across the region. The nations that are participating in the tournament includes, Antigua and Barbuda, Grenada, Anguilla, Bermuda, Sint Maarten and Saint Lucia.

This competition is a great opportunity for all the teams to showcase their skills, abilities, techniques and determination on this international platform.

While unveiling the players headed to Antigua and Barbuda for the tournament, the Grenada Volleyball Association noted that their women are all set to make the most of this opportunity.

The players who have been selected to represent Grenada include

5. Thornia Williams Mitchell
6. Shakina Orr
7. Leann Dowden
8. Deanne John

As per the details, Jomelar Billy has been named as the captain of the team. On the other hand, Rennisha Stafford will be performing her roles and responsibilities as the Vice-Captain. The team will be accompanied by Head Coach Raphael Braithwaite.

While emphasising on the Head Coach, the Grenada Volleyball Association noted that he has worked really hard to prepare the players for this tournament. They further asserted that their Head Coach has made every possible effort with a vision to build on the strength of the players and guide towards success.

“We extend our best wishes to the team as they represent Grenada with pride, and we encourage all supporters to rally behind them as they compete for the ECVA title,” noted the Grenada Volleyball Association.

Moreover, the management is not only hosting ECVA Women’s Indoor Championship, but they will also host the Men’s Tournament from 23rd to 28th October 2024. The teams that will be participating in the tournament include, Antigua and Barbuda, Grenada, Saint Lucia, Dominica, Saba, St. Eustatius, Sint. Maarten, British Virgin Islands, Bermuda and Anguilla.
