Grenada Prime Minister Dickon Mitchell receives credentials for the CariSECURE project.

St George’s, Grenada: Resident Representative for the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) for Barbados and the Eastern Caribbean, Limya Eltayeb, presented credentials for the CariSECURE project to the Prime Minister and Minister for National Security, Home Affairs, Public Administration, Information and Disaster Management, Dickon Mitchel, earlier this month.
The Grenadian PM was accompanied by Minister of State with responsibility Social Development and Gender Affairs, Senator Gloria A Thomas.
As per the information shared by the government, the CariSECURE project symbolises a collaborative effort between Grenada and the UNDP, highlighting the shared commitment to addressing complex regional security challenges. Through this project, the authorities aspire to enhance the capabilities, strengthen the partnerships, and foster greater resilience across the Caribbean region.
In addition to this, Prime Minister Dickon Mitchell, who also serves as the Minister for Infrastructure and Physical Development, also interacted with the staff of the Roads and Maintenance of Grenada.
During this meeting, PM was together with Sylvia Bennett-Thomas, Permanent Secretary (Ag.) with responsibility for Infrastructure and Physical Development and Esther Bridgeman, Administrative Officer-Personnel, engaged with the dedicated Staff of the Southern Division (Central).
The Southern Division Staff not only showed their enthusiasm but also offered valuable recommendations for the future.
The government anticipated that such meetings will be instrumental in shaping comprehensive strategies and initiatives that address the unique needs of each division. By incorporating the valuable insights gained from the staff, government can effectively prioritise infrastructure projects, allocate resources, and ensure that the development efforts align with the ambitions of the local communities.
