Ex-boyfriend charged with murder of woman

The ex-boyfriend of a 45-year-old hairstylist, Simone Whyte, who was murdered a few days ago, was charged with her murder.

The name of the accused is Shawn Mussington, and he is a resident of St John’s.

The Police reported that around 10 pm, Whyte was at the Hitachi Building on Tanner Street when Mussington approached her and attacked her with a knife.

He stabbed her multiple times before slashing her throat.

Whyte could not be taken to a hospital and was pronounced dead at the scene of the crime.

Three children survive Whyte, and she moved from Jamaica to Antigua three years ago.

Mussington’s attorney, Wendel Robinson, said that his client had gone for emergency surgery for wounds under his chin and the right side of his neck when he allegedly received last Saturday during the altercation.

Mussington is now under police guard at the hospital and will face charges of murder.
