Saint Lucia: Dr Ernest Hilaire – Parliamentary representative for Castries South, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Tourism, Investment, Creative Industries, Culture and Information extends Christmas greetings to the constituents of Castor South and all the Saint Lucians on December 20, 2023.
As a Christmas message, he wished God’s continued blessings to the citizens of the country. He also highlighted the proud achievements of the year. In his address, he included the excellence of the people in all areas at local, regional and international levels.
“We must continue to encourage this excellence and invest in our human capital,” said Minister Ernest Hilaire.
Moreover, he advised to make the appropriate use of all the 2023 successes to construct a stronger platform for growth in the coming year 2024. Considerably, he extended heartfelt thanks to the constituents who support and give strength to keep up the hard work.
Probing ahead, the Minister laid an emphasis on the assistance provided to the Saint Lucians throughout the year through various government programs by offering laptops, school fees, exam payments, medical bills, food vouchers etc. to meet the requirements of life.
Further, he shed light on the short-term employment campaigns which the government created this year for the economic welfare of the communities. Such an action is committed towards generating employment and rebuilding the ideology of the community.
“This must never be lost as we aim to reduce the level of violence across the island,” said the Minister in this concern.
Listing down the achievements, he further casted light on the tourism of the country, which revealed growth to recover from the downfall during the COVID-19 pandemic. The growth and progress witnessed in the tourism industry in 2023 has played a great role in the growth and development of the sector.
Importantly, he added that the Fair Helen has again won the Caribbean and world-leading honeymoon destination and the Caribbean’s leading adventure destination. Also, he extended by providing the details on cultural development in the region.
While concluding, he prayed to the Lord Jesus for the overall success of Saint Lucia and extended the greetings of joy to the people of the nation.
