Prime Minister of the Commonwealth of Dominica- Dr Roosevelt Skerrit, received a courtesy call from the High Commissioner of Canada in Barbados, Lilian Chatterjee.

Dominica: Prime Minister of the Commonwealth of Dominica- Dr Roosevelt Skerrit, received a courtesy call from the High Commissioner of Canada in Barbados, Lilian Chatterjee.
During the meeting, both delegations discussed about the areas of cooperation between both the countries. The meet also witnessed the strengthening of the partnership in various sectors, including climate adaptation, education as well as climate-resilient infrastructure.
PM Skerrit and high commissioner Chatterjee also interacted about the Kalinago Territory.
“We discussed areas of cooperation between Dominica and Canada, and the strengthening of our partnership in education, climate adaptation and the building of resilient infrastructure, including in the Kalinago Territory,” Prime Minister Skerrit stated while informing about the meeting.

Both countries- Canada and the Commonwealth of Dominica have had longstanding diplomatic ties since 1978. The relationship is based on multilateral and development cooperation as well as strong and people-to-people relations, including tourism and educational exchanges. Canada is represented in Dominica by the High Commission of Canada in Barbados, which opened in 1967.
