Dominica: Roosevelt Skerrit, Prime Minister of the Caribbean island, the Commonwealth of Dominica, denounces the disgraceful attacks by the mob of blind followers in the U.S. Capitol.
Recent acts of violence on the Capitol Building in the United States were an open assault on long-established democratic norms, which has a strong tradition in our region. We look forward to a peaceful transfer of power in the United States on January 20, 2021.

People’s Reaction:
Martha Maynard commented, “I concur!!! Democracy was threatened and challenged yesterday, but Democracy and the will of the people prevailed!!!! Free and fair election processes must be respected and accepted.”
Facebook User commented, “DEMOCRACY must prevail. The voice of the preponderance will always prevail. The rhetoric I’m hearing on Q95 this morning from the other side is very concerning. We must not let what happened in the U.S. happen here from a group of minority trouble makers. Our law enforcement must be stern and decisive in the application and execution of our laws against insurrection and anarchy.”
Pearl Etienne commented, “So true, PM. We are all too accustomed to such behavior during our last election. Up to this moment, our opposition here hasn’t conceded defeat. SLS. Sore loser Syndrome…Praying for Peace in the USA.”
Marlyn Simon wrote, “That is a dictator. A man will kill to get into power, and another will kill to stay in power. so where are the people’s power?”
Another user commented, “As I’ve said before, respectfully, sir, you have no moral authority to talk about Democracy. I see thru ur hypocrisy like I got laser vision. No law, no constitution… Do you remember these words?”
