The government of Dominica has been focusing on increasing the staff of police at different decisions so that these types of problems might not occur in the country or that should be stopped more people to deal with such occurrences

On Sunday 18 July, during the Annou Pale where the Prime Minister of Dominica Roosevelt Skerrit had an open discussion with the citizens of Dominica. PM Skerrit, in the starting, showcased the recent stats of the COVID-19 situation in the country. PM Skerrit urged the citizens of Dominica to get vaccinated and to obey the COVID-19 safety measures.
While the discussion PM Skerrit received many questions from the Dominica’s citizens that resembled citizens’ expectations from the government.
PM Skerrit highlighted the work done in the various sectors and also conversed with the citizens to know their expectations from the fiscal budget 2021-22.The first question was by a girl, and she asked that she has been very concerned about the cases of a child’s sexual abuse on the island; therefore, she was keen to know that if there would be an increase in budgetary allocation for the social welfare division.
PM Skerrit, while answering the question, said that the government of Dominica has been focusing on increasing the staff of police at different decisions so that these types of problems might not occur in the country or that should be stopped more people to deal with such occurrences and to build a good connection between the unit, police and the government agencies so that the cases should be filled and get the right judgements.
PM Skerrit said that projects in the construction sector, agriculture sector have been among the factors playing a significant role in economic growth. PM Skerrit stated that manufacturing trade, as well as retail trade, also bolstered the economy.
Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit said that a vital investment has been expected with the funding generated by the Citizenship by Investment Programme of Dominica in the coming financial year.
Talking about the Dominica government’s achievements in the health sector, the Prime Minister noted that the developments in the health sector are enormous.
