On Sunday 25th of September, the DCYSS held a 7-A-Side Knockout Cricket Competition with six competing teams; Team United, Police & Fire Swiperz, All Stars Xtreme, MMSA and Wildside.
GAME 1
ZJB vs Team United
ZJB came up against Team United. ZJB won the toss and decided to field. Team United scored 88 for two off the allotted seven overs. Zawandi White top scored with 33 off 14 balls, with three fours and two sixes for Team United. Keon Hutson was the pick of the bowlers, conceding only one run from his over. Basil chambers picked up one wicket in his spell; the other wicket fell via the run-out route.
In reply, ZJB got to 44 for three off their allotted seven overs; Kelvin “Tabu” Duberry scored 14 not out and was the only one to get to double figures.
Team United won by 43 runs.
GAME 2
Police & Fire Swiperz vs All Stars Xtreme
Police and Fire won the toss and decided to field. All Stars Xtreme made 68 for two off the allotted seven overs. Theodore Frye top scored with 18 off 16 balls. Pick of the bowlers Rakesh Jailall 1 over four runs one wicket.
In reply, Police & Fire Swiperz made 61 for no loss, off the allotted seven overs. Dion West top scored with 34 off 23 balls, 1 4 and 3 6’s.
All Stars Xtreme won by seven runs
GAME 3
Wild Side vs MMSA
Wild Side won the toss and decided to bat. Calvin Lewis top scored with 11 off 9. Wild Side scored 44 for five off 7. Pick of the bowlers for MMSA, Andrew Cole’s one over five runs, two wickets.
Needing 45 to win, MMSA’s scored 48 for 3. Zhuan Sweeney topped the batting with 25 off 12, with 1 4 and 2 6’s. Natasha Blair’s one over 4 runs one wicket was the pic of the bowlers for Wild Side.
MMSA won by three wickets.
ROUND 2
MMSA got a bye to the finals and awaited the winner of the All Stars Xtreme vs Team United
Semi-Final Round
All Stars Xtreme vs Team United
Team United won the toss and decided to bat. Scored 83 for three off 7. Zawandi White top scored with 52 from 22, 4 4’s and 4 6’s. McPherson Meade’s over of 4 runs and one wicket was the pick of bowlers.
ALL STARS XTREME needing 84 to win, Joshua Grant was the only batter who got to double figures, scoring 16 off 13. Falling short of the target, bringing to 56 for five off 7. Bowler Sydney Mendes’ over of 8 runs and two wickets sealed the win for Team United. They won by seven runs.
FINALS
MMSA vs Team United
MMSA won the toss and decided to field. Rushshawn Fenton top scored with 19 runs off 14. Four bowlers, Stevel Rodney, Kendal Wade, Lionel Baker and Zhuan Sweeney, picked up a wicket a piece in their innings and helped to restrict Team United to 44 of their seven overs.
In reply, Zhuan Sweeney top scored with 25 off 18 with 3 4’s. Scored 48 for two off 5.4 overs. Bowler Zawandi White’s over of 6 runs for one wicket was the top bowler for Team United.
MMSA won by four wickets
MMSA won the seven aside Knockout Competition.
