CSG Patricia Scotland wishes the Bahamas on 50th Independence Day

Nassau, The Bahamas: Patricia Scotland, the Commonwealth Secretary-General (CSG), recently participated in the golden jubilee of the independence of The Bahamas. She wished the general public and government of the Caribbean country on this auspicious occasion and prayed for many more years of prosperity and growth.

CSG Scotland took her official social media and expressed her gratitude. She also shared a glimpse of the celebration in which people are dancing and singing and showcasing their rich culture and heritage.

Through her official Twitter handle, Commonwealth Secretary-General mentioned, “It was a great honour to attend the spectacular celebration commemorating the golden jubilee of the Bahamas’ Independence today.”

She further wished for a brighter future for the country and stated that the nation, which continues its efforts, is touching new heights and is moving forward. “The country’s motto ‘Forward Upward Onward Together’ continues to resonate, guiding us all towards a brighter future,” she wrote on her social media.

“Happy Independence Day,” she mentioned while concluding her message.

The celebrations were also attended by the Prime Minister of The Bahamas, Philip Brave Davis. He also took his official social media handles to wish each and every citizen of the nation.

“Happy 50th, beloved Bahamaland! Ready for the next 50…?” he noted and anticipated more successful years for the country and its people.

In another social media post, he outlined, “As we look around the 700 islands, rocks and cays that make up our beautiful country, let us give God thanks. From Nassau to Inagua… Bahamas. From Freeport to Mayaguana… Bahamas. Golden Anniversary… Bahamas. Happy Independence… Bahamas.”

Many citizens and residents of The Bahamas also took social media and wished other people and the government to complete 50 years of independence.

One of the social media users took the comment section and conveyed, “That’s awesome! Congratulations! May the Bahamas 🇧🇸 live long and Greater! May the resurrection and re-connection with the motherland during this period ignite our bond and bring prosperity to all.” Yet another wished, “Happy independence……..BAHAMAS”.
