COVID-19 cases increases to 502 in St.Lucia

Saint Lucia: Ministry of Health and wellness of Saint Lucia confirms 12 new cases of COVID-19 in the nation. This brings a total of 502 active cases of deadly coronavirus in St.Lucia.

Eleven of the cases are residents of age ranging from one year to 73 years. These positive tested people were seen in a community respiratory clinic. They were evaluated and confirmed for deadly coronavirus. They were placed in quarantine by health workers pending the receipt of their test results. Arrangements have been made to identify these people in isolation. Scientists say that epidemiological links have been discovered for five of the cases as mentioned above. Analysts are on-going by the contact tracing team to determine the possible existence of these links for the other six confirmed cases.

One of the twelve cases is a non-national, which has been recorded as the nation’s sixth coronavirus related death. The person is a 52 years old male, a national of the United Kingdom. He reached in Saint Lucia on December 30, 2020, and died on January 9, 2021, and was not in care at the time of his passing. Reports say that there are currently 177 active cases and all being stable, and none requiring critical case.

The ministry of health & wellness takes this opportunity to remind everyone of the importance of maintaining all the guidelines that can restrict the spreading of deadly coronavirus—frequently washing hands, using sanitizers, wearing masks present when in public places, and make suring of covering mouths, nose, and chin. Social distancing is the key to follow from having an infectious disease at all.
