Beijing, China: China’s “forceful colonisation of Tibet has had detrimental repercussions on the Tibetan population’s treasured and age-old indigenous culture,” as per reports by Tibet Press.
According to ANI, since the invasion of Tibet, China has maintained its geographical dominance over the Tibetan territory and has attempted to “sincize” the people who practise Tibetan culture.
According to a report from local news website, China’s desire to dominate the world is fueled by its “assertive features” in all regions where it sees itself as a dominant force. With its territorial claims and border disputes, China has managed to annoy the majority of its neighbours.
It further claimed, one of China’s most oppressive tactics is its “iron-fisted control over Tibet, which has claimed the lives of thousands of people.” Over time, China’s claims to Tibet have been stronger.
The 17 Point Agreement, also known as the “Illegal Agreement on Measures for the Peaceful Liberation of Tibet,” was signed on May 23, 1951, by a “person devoid of official authority to represent Tibet,” according to Tibet Press, and is the basis for China’s legitimacy in Tibet.
According to the deal, China agreed to maintain the traditional Tibetan administration and religion while allowing local ethnic groups to continue their customs. The exiled Tibetan government has asserted that the agreement lacks legal standing because it was signed via “coercive measures.”
China has weakened the accord that has given it legitimacy for the last 80 years. By enacting “communist policies, executing regressive Sinicisation tactics, and by forcible assimilation its ethnic population in Tibetan regions,” according to Tibet Press, Chinese authorities have attempted to “wipe Tibetan culture” from the holy lands.
A successor to the Dalai Lama has also been sought after for years by the Chinese Communist Party. Beijing’s attempts, nevertheless, have not been successful. The 14th Dalai Lama’s succession plans are a crucial component of China’s effort to absorb Tibet into its own country.
According to the news article, Beijing’s ambitions directly impact China’s boundaries with India, particularly in the Arunachal region. The Tawang district in Arunachal Pradesh is rich in Buddhist culture and is home to the second-largest and oldest monastery in Asia.
The Communist Party of China has put pressure on Tibet’s economic progress. Hegemonic inclinations have been supported by China’s aim to utilise Tibet’s abundant ecosystem and mineral reserves, which have grown more pronounced with its growth model.
The article claims that Beijing’s goals directly affect China’s borders with India, particularly in the Arunachal region. The second-largest and oldest monastery in Asia is located in the Buddhist-rich Tawang area of Arunachal Pradesh.
Tibet’s economic development has been under pressure from the Chinese Communist Party. China’s desire to utilise Tibet’s rich ecology and mineral resources, which have become increasingly prominent with its growth model, has fostered hegemonic impulses.
