Carriacou and Petite Martinique unveils winners of Mas for Kayak Mas Bands 2024

Carriacou and Petite Martinique: The management of the Carriacou and Petite Martinique unveiled the Mas Result for Kayak Mas Bands 2024. It is to be noted that Carriacou Carnival is also known as Kayak- Mas which was conducted on Monday, 12^th February and continued till 13^th February 2024.

The Carnival hosted various activities for its visitors including, Mas Parades, soca and calypso, humorous social commentary, carnival competitions, colourful costumes, dance, music, several types of local and traditional cuisines and many more. The Kayak Mas is a beautiful way of exhibiting the vibrant culture and traditions of the nation.

The Carriacou and Petite Martinique hosted the Fancy Mas Band and Monday Nite Mas. All the participants graced the stage through their electrifying and thrilling performances and entertained the audience.

Winners of Fancy Mas 2024, include

1. JCB (Just Come Back) bagged the first spot and claimed 632 points.
2. Wings of Sparrow received the second position with 461 points.
3. The third position was achieved by Lush Mas with 409 points.
4. Kaizen Mas Experience secured the fourth spot with 272 points.
5. Carnival Lovers bagged the fifth position with 158 points.

Winners of Monday Nite Mas 2024, include

1. Viking on the Road bagged the first spot with 320 points.
2. Euphoria received the second position with 293.5 points.
3. King Black Family achieved the third position with 248.5 points.
4. Galaxy secured the fourth spot with 223.5 points.
5. Flesh received the fifth position with 163 points.
6. Aqua Band and Jabaholics received the sixth spot with 157.5.

The Government of Grenada along with the Ministry of Carriacou and Petite Martinique Affairs and Local Government shared their vision of extending support to the local festivals on the island to promote the rich cultural heritage of the nation.

Notably, Kayak Mas 2024 received a $200,000 subvention to aid in the execution of the pre-Lenten festival.

Various residents of the community took to their social media accounts and extended congratulations to the winners of the events.

One person with a Facebook account Oswald Darbeau commented “For what I’ve seen the mas’ was very good.”

Another person wrote “Congratulations to all the winners, the event was genuinely very energetic and full of fun.”
