Caribbean: Caribbean Premier League 2023 will return to the shores of the region in the month of August and will conclude during September. As per the update, the cricket tournament will commence from August 16 to September 24, 2023.
The Caribbean Premier League, which is also known as CPL or CPLT20, is an annual Twenty20 tournament held in the Caribbean region. It brings many international cricketers together to one platform where they show their cricketing skills.
The tournament was founded by Cricket West Indies in the year 2013 and was later switched to the premier T20 competition in the Caribbean. The tournament, for now, is sponsored by Republic Bank Limited and has been officially termed the Republic Bank CPL. Republic Bank Limited is known to be the largest indigenous Bank.
The Bank will remain the title sponsor for the Caribbean Premier League 2023, as per the announcement made by the Chief Executive Officer of CPL, Pete Russell. The press conference was held earlier this week in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago. It was also announced, during the conference, that the Bank will now assume the highest sponsorship profile of the league for the next three years.
In addition to this, the officials have also confirmed that the Bank will become an official partner for the Women’s Caribbean Premier League (WCPL). It is worth noting that the second edition of the women’s CPL will return this year. People around the globe wait for the commencement of the tournament as it gathers the best female cricket players, who show their skills in front of a global audience.
CEO of CPL, Russell, was quoted saying, “Republic Bank is the perfect partner for the CPL and WCPL, a company that shares the passion for cricket and Caribbean culture. The Premier League is a driver of economic growth and the creation of jobs, so having a financial group like Republic Bank as the title sponsor makes perfect sense. In addition, the Bank has an excellent track record of spreading the love of cricket worldwide, something that is important to all.”
