Barbados: The distribution of COVID-19 vaccines in the Caribbean islands and over the Americas under the World Health Organization (WHO) vaccine delivery system is anticipated to begin by the end of the first quarter, Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) Director, Dr. Carissa Etienne has exposed.

The two billion doses are expected to cover the first phase of the coronavirus vaccination, targeting 20 percent of the recipient countries’ unprotected populations, including healthcare workers, frontline workers, people with underlying circumstances, and especially the elderly.
According to PAHO, Pfizer is also anticipated to provide one million vaccines to be practiced in some regional homelands under a pilot project next month.
Mass vaccination would help to restrict the spread of lethal coronavirus among the population. Vaccination distribution in an equal manner will indicate rapid vaccination among all. Immediate consequences are also a significant aspect of this pandemic.

Extension of Curfew in Barbados
Day by day, there are increasing cases of COVID-19 reports in Barbados. Now the Lockdown is intended to stop the activity that can spread deadly coronavirus. The curfew’s expansion will decrease mobs’ gathering, which might also generate conditions for expanded COVID-19 infections.
Citizens of Barbados and visitants should expect some easing soon from the delays in obtaining their COVID-19 test outcomes, announces Senior Medical Officer in the Ministry of Health & Wellness, Dr. Anton Best.
