Last year, the 2021-2022 “Dynamic Dominica: Building on Our Past, Solidifying Our Present, Securing Our Future” budget was announced by Prime Minister Dr Roosevelt Skerrit and the Ministry of Finance in September 2021.
The previous budget was presented against the background of the difficulty of these days, but with the unshakeable faith that despite these challenges, there are great opportunities for Dominica. In early 2020 following loss and damage equivalent to over 300% of GDP caused by Tropical Storm Erika and Hurricane Maria, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) projected strong growth of Dominica’s economy by 5.5 percent, 4.5 percent and 3.6 percent, for the years 2020, 2021 and 2022 respectively.
