Budget 2022-2023: PM Roosevelt Skerrit shares update on ongoing International Airport Project in Dominica
Dominica: Prime Minister Dr Roosevelt Skerrit presented Budget 2022-2023 during the first meeting of the third parliament at the House of Assembly.

Dominica: Prime Minister Dr Roosevelt Skerrit presented Budget 2022-2023 during the first meeting of the third parliament at the House of Assembly. PM Roosevelt Skerrit took the platform and shared update on the development of the International Airport of Dominica, constructing in Wesley.
Prime Minister Skerrit highlighted that construction work at the Dominica International Airport has been started and is going at a perfect pace. He further promised that it is expected that the airport will be operational for people of Dominica and international travellers by 2026. He said, “We have selected the right partner to ensure that this becomes a reality.”
PM Skerrit added, “During this fiscal year, they look forward to the following key milestones to be undertaken, the completion of mobilization for the commencement of work.”
He also provided brief information about the direct and indirect employment being provided to the locals of Dominica because of the construction of the airport. He stated that this project will offer job opportunities for construction workers, engineers, plumbers, electricians, contractors as well as other service providers. He highlighted that the government of Dominica will focus on meeting the high-level of demands as many businesses – small and big, are expected to be benefitted.
Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit emphasised during the Budget 2022-2023 presentation, “This airport will be a game changer for Dominica and inspectors. I continue to call on Dominicans to equip themselves for the opportunities which will be available once the airport is operational.”
