Barbados is all set to host Tourism Week 2024 under the theme “Tourism and Peace” with a vision to recognize the fundamental economic and sociocultural importance of the sector. The week filled with exciting activities will be celebrated from 22nd to 28th September 2024.

The Tourism Week coincides with World Tourism Day, which is September 27th. It is celebrated in order to foster awareness among the international community of the importance of tourism and its social, cultural, political, and economic value.

While shedding light on commemorating Barbados Tourism Week, the Chief Product Officer for the Barbados Tourism Marketing Inc, Marsha Alleyne stated that it would be great not just to celebrate the day, but to afford many tourism workers and partners of the country.

She added that this Tourism Week is a great opportunity to celebrate all those workers and also to hear more about what’s happening within the industry.

She further noted that Barbados has the highest return rate in the Caribbean. “Over 42% of our visitors who come to the island actually return. The number one reason as the surveys and the research says is because of the Barbadian people. So why not celebrate those hard people who are hardworking, who are dedicated in the industry,” noted Marsha Alleyne.

She added that with the celebration of Tourism Week 2024, Barbados will play a huge role in attracting large number of tourists to the country, offering diverse attractions of the island nation.
