Applications open for contractors for construction project at Champagne Beach, Dominica

Roseau, Dominica: The developmental actions are being taken each passing day in Dominica as the authorities are responsibly working towards fulfilling all their promises. Recently, a tender notice for the construction project was introduced in the country at Champagne Beach that highlights the enhancement in tourism for the country for which the applications for contractors are open.
“This is more than just a construction project, it is a partnership towards enhancing the beauty and accessibility of our must-see destination in the Caribbean,” mentioned the Dominica Ministry of Tourism.
Through such a statement, the ministry clearly mentioned the development state of the country as a major part of the economy is dependent on the tourism sector. And, with enhancement in beauty, the must-see destination will attract more and more tourists.
Last week, the Ministry of Tourism also hosted a site visit for the contractors who are interested. For this, the applications are open till April 22, 2024 (11 am) according to Eastern Caribbean time.
During the site visit, the contractors as well were provided with a glimpse into the future with insights from the Tourism Minister, Denise Charles, Ministry Team, Ministry of Public Words, and Architect, Bergis Stoute.
The grant agreement for the construction of a Modern Reception Facility at Champagne Beach was signed on October 10, 2023 between the CARICOM Development Fund (CDF) and the Government of the Commonwealth of Dominica (GOCD).
Under the project, certain developments are included that are:
- Basement-level reception area with vending units, changing rooms, lockers, spa services and a balcony.
- Lower ground level with the restaurant and bar with the washrooms and open space for dining, recreation and entertainment.
- The ground floor (road level) has a restaurant and bar, washrooms, and pen space for dining, recreation, and entertainment.
- Open green space for recreation (outside)
Such actions by the ministry for the growth and development of the country marks great significance towards building resilience in the country.
