Charles Max Fernandez, the tourism minister of Antigua and Barbuda, shared his plan to promote the nation’s tourism sector.
Notably, the motive to add 1000 new hotel rooms by 2025 will play a huge role in attracting a massive estimated investment of one billion US dollars.
The finance minister gave a detailed breakdown of the important investments marked for various projects during a parliamentary session.
The expansion of Royalton Chic Jolly Beach will mark the enhancement of luxury offerings in the region. It will feature an investment of 30 million USD in the expansion of the beach.
Moreover, there are many other important projects which are in the pipeline, with a motive to boose the tourism section of the nation. The project includes:
– The expansion of Hermitage Bay Hotel with a 15 million US dollar budget.
– The Nikki Beach Resort, which is set to receive 250 million US dollars.
– The Carlilse Bay expansion project and the Maran Marot Yapton project, with a budget of 100 million US dollar.
The tourism minister also highlighted Rosewood Hotels, a well-established brand that is set to offer luxury accommodations to all its tourists. However, detailed descriptions of this project were not shared by the minister during his address. It is to be noted that the addition of this project to the investment list indicates its importance in the hospitality sector.
The tourism minister showed his confidence in such investments and stated that the investments in these crucial projects will elevate the nation’s profile as a travel destination. He also added that such projects will create many job opportunities for the locals as well.
Offering the visitors upgraded and luxurious accommodations will increase the inflow of tourists. The increase in the number of visitors will foster economic growth and will create sustainable development in the nation.
