Antigua and Barbuda: The tourism authority of Antigua and Barbuda launched the “Be Here” campaign with a vision to extend a welcome to all cricket enthusiasts to immerse themselves in the atmosphere of the game in the island nation. The island nation will be hosting eight matches of ICC T20 World Cup 2024 which will attract several international visitors to the island nation.
A 29-day tournament will begin on 1st June 2024 and will take place in six Caribbean destinations and three venues in the United States of America. The ICC T20 World Cup 2024 will be conducted between 20 nations divided into four groups who will compete against each other to emerge victorious of the title and the trophy.
The “Be Here” cricket campaign will be used as a key source for attracting cricket lovers to the island nation to experience the exciting and thrilling matches of the ICC T20 World Cup 2024. The tourism authority of Antigua and Barbuda will make the usage of digital, print, social media and radio advertising to attract visitors and witness a surge in the tourism sector of the country.
Colin C. James, the CEO of Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority also expressed excitement about the campaign and stated that “Our ‘Be’ campaign is about being present in the moment, allowing one’s senses to awaken to the variety of experiences Antigua and Barbuda has to offer.”
He also extended a welcome to the citizens to embrace the unique aspects of the destination by exploring its vibrant culture and traditions. He also asked the citizens to visit the island nation and indulge in sailing and yachting activities find solace in the wellness havens and get a chance to romance in the intimate settings.
The tourism authority has promised to offer a plethora of experiences to all its visitors and give them a surreal experience like never before.
Moreover, there are several other cricketing tournaments which will be taking place following ICC T20 World Cup 2024. Those tournaments will also play a significant role in attracting a large number of visitors to the island nation and offering them an experience filled with entertainment and fun.
The tournaments scheduled following the ICC T20 World Cup 2024
- The FairBreak T20 Challenge – Women’s Cricket that will be conducted in July.
- Republic Bank Caribbean Premier League (CPL24) will take place from August 28– October 62024 and the crucial games will take place in Antigua, the birthplace of ‘Party cricket’.
- West Indies to compete against England for a white ball series and the games will take place in Antigua.
