Antigua and Barbuda becomes undefeated champion of 2024 LICB 50 Overs Tournament
Antigua and Barbuda played their last game against St Kitts, where the latter faced their first defeat of the tournament.

The defended champions, Antigua and Barbuda has emerged undefeated in the 2024 LICB 50 Overs Tournament, securing the trophy once again with an impressive four straight wins.
The team Antigua and Barbuda topped the points table scoring 16 points with the positive net run rate of 1.396. They were followed by St Kitts Senior Men with 12 points and Anguilla Senior Men with 8 points in 2ndand 3rd positions respectively.
Antigua and Barbuda played their last game against St Kitts, where the latter faced their first defeat of the tournament. The team Antigua and Barbuda posted a final score of 314 runs with 8 wickets down, setting a target of 315 for St Kitts.
Jaleel Clarke’s century almost led St Kitts close to their target, but they fell short by 14 runs, resulting in victory for Antigua and Barbuda.
Kadeem Henry of Antigua and Barbuda became the Player of the Day following his exceptional performance in the game.
While appreciating his performance, the Leeward Islands Cricket Board stated “Playing in his debut competition for Antigua and Barbuda, the extremely talented Kadeem Henry was the difference between both sides in a crucial match between Antigua and Barbuda and hosts St. Kitts.”
St Kitts seemed to have had the chase of 315 all in control with 77 runs needed from 80 balls and six wickets in hand. However, Jaleel Clarke’s dismissal by Henry shifted the momentum in favour of the team Antigua and Barbuda. And, the lower order of St Kitts also tried their best to fought till the end but failed to chase down the target.
Not only with the ball but, Kadeem Henry also anchored his side’s batting with a well-paced 78, showcasing his excellent all-round skills. Throughout the tournament, he has taken the maximum number of wickets i.e. 10, at an average of 12.2 and an economy rate of 5.08 in the tournament, scoring 155 runs at an average of 39.
In addition to, Jewel Andrew of Antigua and Barbuda has been exceptional as well throughout the tournament and his selection in the West Indies ODI squad against Sri Lanka shed light on the outstanding performances shown by him.
Following his selection, Leeward Islands Cricket Board stated “Congratulations to Jewel Andrew for being selected to the West Indies 15-man ODI Squad that will be touring Sri Lanka. He joins fellow teammates of Leeward Islands Hurricanes like Alzarri Joseph, Hayden Walsh Jr. And Keacy Carty. Well done Jewel!”
