The Antigua and Barbuda National Olympic Committee announced a five-member team that will be heading to Paris to compete in the 2024 Olympic Games.

Antigua and Barbuda: The Antigua and Barbuda National Olympic Committee announced a five-member team that will be heading to Paris to compete in the 2024 Olympic Games.

While unveiling the athletes who will be representing Antigua and Barbuda, the National Olympic Committee stated that they have selected a mix of experienced Olympians and promising young talents who can perform diligently and lead the nation towards victory.

The athlete who will be representing the island nation in Athletics is Cejhae Greene who will compete in the male 100m event. He has achieved the qualifying standard time of 10 and secured his participation in the Olympic Games.

On the other hand, Joella Lloyd will compete in 100m females. She has already made history by qualifying for the female 100m event as she has set a new National record and has become the second female athlete in history of Antigua and Barbuda to meet the Olympic qualifying standards.

Tiger Tyson will represent Antigua and Barbuda in Kiteboarding, which is a sailing event. The National Olympic Committee noted that it is his inspiring skills which have played a huge role in helping him earn a spot among the top twenty in the world.

The Swimmers who will be presenting the nation includes, Ellie Shaw and Jadin Wuilliez in 100m Breaststroke female and male respectively.

The athletes are all set to represent their nation at the respective events and bring laurels to the nation by claiming a medal for their country. The event of athletics will run from 1st August to 11th August. The Sailing competition will start on 4th August and will continue till 9thAugust 2024. Meanwhile, the Swimming competition will start on 27thJuly and will run till 4th August 2024.

The Antigua and Barbuda National Olympic Committee is very optimistic about the participants and stated that they are fully prepared and keeps all the ability to represent their nation on an international platform and are ready to bring laurels by leading their country towards victory. They also noted that athletes will also participate in a two-week training camp prior to Olympics which will be hosted by Paman Sports.

While shedding light on the team heads, ABNOC stated that Joel Rayne has been appointed as the Chef de Mission for the Olympic Games who will be assisted by Thomas Greenaway as Team Manager.
