Georgetown, Guyana: A Businessman was taken into custody in relation to the Chooromantie Tulsie murder case. He was arrested by police on Monday, November 27.
Notably, the businessman, whose only name has been given as “Pandit”, was arrested last week with two of his workers; however, after 72 hours, the men were placed on station bail and released on Sunday.
Pandit was re-arrested by the police for the killing committed to 38-year-old accountant Tulsie, also called “Anita” of Lot 26 Unity, Mahaica, between last Tuesday and Wednesday.
If sources are to be believed, it is said that the businessman who customarily visited Anita’s home was the one who allegedly told her 5-year-old son to tell police and relatives that the man whom she was involved in an accident with in July of this year, was the one who murdered his mother.
It is to be noted that the businessman had access to Tulsie’s home and used to be around the woman all the time.
Importantly, it is to be added in the remarks of the Pandit that he did not see the accountant as a “Sex Machine” but as a daughter, hours after she was discovered dead and according to sources, this is very worrying.
Based on what relatives believed, she was murdered in the presence of her son by someone she was familiar with since she would never let strangers into her home.
Notably, the killer, they further disclosed, was then supposed to lock the lower flat door with a lock and take the child back to the upper flat, place him in the house and lock the door with a lock before making good their escape.
Additionally, a 38-year-old accountant was found dead with a knife stuck in her throat and cloth stuffed in her mouth in Mahaica.
One of her neighbours, Cavita Jagarnauth, visited her home on the same day and found the gate locked. She called out for her but got no answer.
With the help of some people, she managed to open the door and went to the lower flat, where they found the deceased lying on the ground. Her body was clad in a multi-coloured nightdress.
However, no breakage was seen around the building. In the meantime, the body was eventually taken to the Memorial Gardens Funeral Home.
The investigation of the case is still ongoing.
