76.6% St Kitts and Nevis population is now fully inoculated

Basseterre: The government of St Kitts and Nevis is speeding up the COVID-19 vaccination drive across the island as it battles with the deadliest COVID-19 virus. The previous year in the month of December, the Caribbean country witnessed soaring COVID infections, which now have seen a gradual decline.

As per the data shared by the Ministry of Health and Wellness, till Saturday, January 29, 2022, there are a total of 26,048 individuals (including children) are fully vaccinated against the novel coronavirus, which counts for around 76.6% of St Kitts and Nevis island population.

On the other hand, around 82.1% of the total population of the twin-island Federation has taken its required number of the WHO-approved COVID-19 jabs and are fully immunised, as of January 29, 2022.

The COVID-19 update report of the health ministry further outlined that a total of 2,784 eligible population of St Kitts and Nevis has received their booster shots, which counts for around 8.4% of the total targeted population.

Meanwhile, a total of 17.9% of the total children population is vaccinated with at least the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, whereas around 15.7% of children are now fully immunised against the contagious viral disease of the twin-island Federation, till January 29, 2022.

The statistics of the report outlines that a total of 56,816 COVID-19 vaccine jabs have been administered by the healthcare authorities of St Kitts and Nevis, of which a total of 43,204 doses have been administered in St Kitts and the remaining 13,612 in Nevis country, till Saturday.

The twin-island Federation at present is having 455 active infections of the COVID-19 mutant, as per the health ministry report’s data. The death rate of St Kitts and Nevis stands at 33. Since the start of the outbreak, a total of 5422 confirmed cases have been recorded, and 4934 individuals recovered from the deadliest virus.
