59th production of Miss Jaycees Queen Show to held at Carnival City, Antigua

Antigua and Barbuda: The seven (7) Caribbean contestants competing for the Ms Jaycees Queen title paid Prime Minister Gaston Browne a courtesy visit at his office on Queen Elizabeth Highway.

Prime Minister Browne wished each delegate every success as they seek to represent their respective countries to the best of their abilities and reminded the contestants that this pageant represents Caribbean Unity.

The Caribbean pageant, a product of JCI Antigua, has been a staple in Antigua and Barbuda’s Carnival festivities over the last 59 years.

Under the theme, “Unleashing the potential within, through resilience and determination”, the highly anticipated pageant will see crown contenders from Antigua and Barbuda, British Virgin Islands, Haiti, Montserrat, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, and Trinidad and Tobago competing at the ARG on Wednesday, July 27 from 8 pm.

Ms Briana Anthony is one of seven girls who is going to represent Antigua and Barbuda.

Miss St Kitts-Nevis National Carnival Queen Nekirah Nicholls is in Antigua, preparing to bring back the crown of Miss Jaycees 2022 to the Federation. She is funded by the St Kitts- Nevis National Carnival Committee.

She is going to join the six other ladies from Antigua and Barbuda, Haiti, Montserrat, British Virgin Islands, Trinidad and Tobago and Saint Lucia as they journey to the crown.

The competition is going to be held in four segments; swimwear, talent, personal interview, and evening wear.

On Sunday, July 24, the representatives selected their order of appearance for the show, with Nicholls performing as contestant number three. Contestant number one is the British Virgin Islands, Contestant number two, Miss Saint Lucia, Contestant Number 4, Miss Haiti, Contestant number five, Miss Montserrat, Contestant number six, Miss Trinidad and Tobago and Contestant Number 7, Miss Antigua and Barbuda.

This is the 59th production of the Miss Jaycees Queen show, as it was first started in 1961 by JCI Antigua. It is the longest-running pageant till now in the Caribbean’s history.
