250 new COVID-19 cases reported in Trinidad and Tobago
Total tests, 33,805 confirmed cases till present, out of which 26,524 have been fortunately recovered

Port of Spain: Ministry of Health of Trinidad and Tobago released their COVID-19 update through a media release. This media release shows the clinical updation till 4 pm on July 6 2021.
Till present total of 2,38,502 tests have been conducted in Trinidad and Tobago at both public and private facilities. In these total tests, 33,805 confirmed cases till present, out of which 26,524 have been fortunately recovered.
The total number of positive patients in Trinidad and Tobago had reached 6,378 in this 250 are new cases that had been reported recently in the last 24 hrs.
The hospitals have been occupied by 339 patients at present in T&T. 903 patients have also died due to the COVID-19 virus in the country.
Till 4 pm 2,20,748 patients have been given the first dose of COVID-19 vaccines out of these vaccinated persons 90,392 got AstraZeneca Oxford vaccine, 1,30,156 got Sinopharm vaccine and 200 doses of Pfizer. Thus,1,23,497 out of the total population got fully vaccinated.
34 patients have been discharged from the public health facilities, and 251 have been recovered community cases. Recovered community cases are categorised in them those who have been infected by COVID-19 virus, and they were in self-isolation, and after reaching the discharge, criteria had been released from self-isolation.
4 additional deaths have also been reported on Thursday. From the 4 deads,1 were elderly males, 0 elderly female and 1 middle-aged male, 2 middle-aged females, 0 elderly male without co-morbidities.
The government of Trinidad and Tobago supposed to reopen its border for travellers from July 17 but also warned that the non-vaccinated people would not be allowed to enter the country.
The additional cases were taken from samples for the period June.
The ministry urges the public to continue obeying the Public Health Regulations, obey regular hand hygiene and keep physical distancing in public to withdraw from spreading the virus.
