St Kitts and Nevis: Prime Minister Timothy Harris-led Team Unity Government handed over the keys of the brand new houses to twenty families in the Stapleton community of St Peter’s, on Friday, February 4. The twenty deserving individuals received keys through the National Housing Corporation (NHC).
Along with Prime Minister Harris, the ceremony was attended by his Cabinet Ministers – Minister responsible for Human Settlement Eugene Hamilton, Lindsay Grant, Jonel Powell and Vincent Byron. The attendees also included the board and management of directors of the National Housing Corporation as well as the residents of the surrounding communities.
Prime Minister Harris distributed the keys for the two two-bedroom bungalows and three townhouses. While delivering the keys of the house, the Prime Minister stated that one more time, Team Unity Government proved that it has been fulfilling its promises.
PM Harris was quoted saying, “I am delighted that twenty individuals got their blessed spot at the supreme island of St Kitts and Nevis.”
He further said that “The Team Unity Government in St Kitts and Nevis fulfilled its one more promise. When we asked people to elect us, we knew that in return, we had to deliver for you. It is our government’s utmost priority to build new houses for you, your family and your friends”.
The PM further claimed that Team Unity is not only just providing homes for the people of St Kitts and Nevis but also providing spacious homes, as compared to the previous administration. The PM said, “Deserving families will achieve houses of dimensions ranging from between 1,651 to 1,800 square feet. Team Unity is providing bigger and better homes”.
He further exclaimed that the houses are the “fundamental building blocks of happy families as it is a place where families build memories as well as come together”.
