St Kitts and Nevis reports 1 new COVID-19 case

Saint Lucia: As of February 20, 2022, Sunday, the nation reported 11 new cases of COVID-19, according to the statics shared by the Ministry of Health, Wellness and Elderly Affairs. The samples were collected between February 17 and February 19; of total samples, around 3.96 percent have tested positive for the virus.

Around 278 samples were collected on the previous day; of these, 183 were from the Ezra Long Laboratory, remaining 95 were from the Laboratory Services and Consultations Limited.

Since the pandemic began, the nation has reported around 22,545 COVID-19 cases.

According to the official data, around 44 people have been recovered from the virus and were discharged. The total number of recovered patients was 21,168.

To date, the number of active cases in the country is 1,014.

There are around 24 patients admitted to the hospital because of the virus; of these, one is critically ill, and one is severely sick, seeking treatment in intensive care.

Till now, the number of deaths reported in the nation is around 358, of which 268 are due to COVID, and 90 are COVID-related. However, the ministry of health has reported one new COVID-19 death.

In St Lucia, as many as 52,111 people have been fully vaccinated, and around 5,719 are partially vaccinated. More than 6,668 people have received the booster shot.

For now, the island country has been giving three vaccines against COVID-19, BioNTech, Pfizer vaccine; Johnson & Johnson vaccine; and Oxford, AstraZeneca vaccine. As of February 20, the number of people who received 1st Dose AstraZeneca Vaccination is 37,705, and 2nd Dose Vaccination is 34,491. Whereas, 1st Dose of Pfizer-BioNTech Vaccination is administrated by 19,903, and 17,398 people have administrated 2nd dose.

The vaccination will resume from 9 am to 4 pm at the Vigie Sports Complex and the Soufriere Hospital on February 21, 2022.
