10 fully vaccinated persons reported COVID-19 positive in Barbados

In Barbados, 10 such cases have been discovered by the health system for those who have been fully vaccinated with COVID-19 vaccines, but still, they have been reported COVID-19 positive.
On Sunday, Chief Medical Officer Dr Kenneth George highlighted that out of the reported cases, 6 have been imported cases were as 4 have been locals. The main point he stressed was that all of them were fully vaccinated.
Chief Medical Officer Dr Kenneth George said that to date, they had reported ten such cases, of which six have been imported cases, with persons being doubly vaccinated with Pfizer and persons with the Johnson and Johnson vaccine. They also had 4 cases in Barbados of persons who had complete vaccinations with AstraZeneca.
Chief Medical Officer Dr Kenneth George said that what he could tell us was none of those persons was in ICU, none of those individuals was on oxygen, and none of those individuals was on CPAP [Continuous Positive Airway Pressure]. Based on those small numbers, what they were noticing was, yes, breakthrough infections were possible. Dr George said they had told the public of Barbados this, adding that the ten patients were all asymptomatic.

The data shows that the total active cases of COVID-19 are 4,345 in number, with 48 deaths recorded till present in Barbados due to the COVID-19 virus. No new death case of COVID-19 has been reported.
From the day pandemic hit Barbados, the health department have tested 2,10,425 people, out of which 4,345 were reported positive, out of which 2,112 were female, and 2,233 were male. Now 161 persons are isolated.
In Barbados, 98,905 people received their first shot of vaccine and 74,033 have been fully vaccinated with having 2 shots according to the present time.
A total of 1,530 tests have been conducted in a single day.
The Pan American Health Organization and World Health Organization, during the rollout programme of the vaccine distribution, provided 33,600 doses to Barbados.
