MP Indarsingh welcomes govt. to settle Gas Supply Conflicts!

Trinidad & Tobago: Member of Parliament for Couva South Rudranath Indarsingh welcomes Trinidad & Tobago’s government to settle Gas supply conflicts (NGC) and protect point lisas jobs.

MP Indarsingh’s statement:
He asserted, “I take the statements by the chief executive officers of five operatives very sincerely in the Estate that the National Gas Company (NGC), as the supplier of gas to the Estate, might be directed to a dispute of interest concerning how it routes gas supplies to the services on the Estate.”

“Should the NGC be in such a dispute of interest, and should gas supplies to other operatives not be reachable in the essential measures to convey these operatives’ profitability, then there are urgent, thoroughly tragic outgrowths for the many workers employed with these operatives. I note media articles that some thirty thousand (30,000) operators stand to be put in the breadline if these operatives can no extended operate at constant and sufficient margins,” he added.

Antique Classic commented, “NGC faces a gas supply risk in addition to its gross margin risk and debt service default risk on its USD 400 million bonds due for bullet payment in 2036, Yungrow negotiated a gas weighted average purchase price which is higher than NGC weighted revenue price.
With plants shut down, a significant risk for both NGC and GOTT is foreign exchange shortage risk; Yungrow never considered the forex supply risk when they shut down Petrotrin, and now defacto shut down NGC.”
