Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago: An alleged body of a man was reportedly discovered and shot to death in Morvant on Wednesday, November 15, 2023.
Notably, a corpse was found four days after the residents informed police about the gunshots they had heard. Around 7:00 pm on the day of the incident, residents of Geranium Drive heard several loud explosions and observed two men running along the street.
The residents detected a foul odour coming from the side of the road at around 12:00 pm on Sunday. They then immediately contacted the police and informed them about the matter.
When the officers arrived at the crime scene, they found the decomposing body of a man clad in a white hoodie and blue pants about 35 feet down a precipice at the side of the road. They even identified the multiple gunshot wounds on the departed body.
It is to be noted that when a DMO visited the scene, he thoroughly viewed the body and declared the victim dead before ordering its removal.
Crime scene investigators also visited the scene along with the officials, and they found three spent 40-calibre shells.
The man and suspects have yet to be identified as the investigation is still ongoing. The officials asked for public support as well if anybody recognized the suspects.
However, this is not the first stance of such crime that came to the limelight as the Morvant area witnessed a case of murder on Saturday, September 30, 2023. Reportedly, the body of 67-year-old Junior Brittan was found in a precipice with a tyre over his body along the Lady Young Road.
Crimes related to murder, robbery, rape and so on should be treated immediately, and strict actions need to be taken against the suspects.
People should be aware when such crimes happen in nearby areas, and it is their prime duty to inform the administration so they will be able to handle the situation or investigate the matter without any delay.
