King Charles III meets West Indies Squad, visits UK for test series
King Charles III hosted the West Indies Cricket team at Buckingham Palace on Saturday ahead of the first test series against England which has been scheduled to take place at Lord’s from 10th to 14th July 2024.

King Charles III hosted the West Indies Cricket team at Buckingham Palace on Saturday ahead of the first test series against England which has been scheduled to take place at Lord’s from 10th to 14th July 2024. The King enjoyed the time spent alongside the captain of the team, Kraigg Brathwaite and his entire squad.
King Charles welcomed all the players with an open heart and expressed his excitement about the upcoming series between West Indies and England. He extended his best wishes to all the players and also asked about their experience of their visit to the UK.
During the meeting, King Charles expressed his care and concern for the Caribbean nations who faced the wrath of Hurricane Beryl. He stated that he is exceptionally proud of all the affected nations, and the way they are dealing with the devastation caused by Hurricane Beryl.
Moreover, the Captain of the West Indies Cricket team in the Richards-Botham Test series, Kraigg Brathwaite shared his experience of meeting King Charles and stated they are honoured to be invited by the King of the United Kingdom. He further added that Hurricane Beryl has been very devastating for their countrymen but they will make all their possible efforts in order to make all the West Indies proud to bring back a smile on their faces during these challenging times.

Notably, the four-day test matches will be effective from 10th July and will continue till 30th July 2024. The first test match will be played at Lord’s from 10th-14th July, followed by the next game at Trent Bridge from 18th- 22nd July. The third and the last test match will be played at Edgbaston from 26th- 30th July 2024.
Also, the Prime Minister of St. Kitts and Nevis, Dr Terrance Drew also shared the pictures of King Charles with the players on his social media account. He stated that it is a proud moment for their very own Mikle Louis and Jeremiah Louis to be decked out in their maroon and meet the King of the UK.
He also stated that the hard work and positivity always pay off and lauded them for their constant dedication and commitment to excellence.
